i dont understand anything from your post's pictures man...?

Look just at the partitions that have Media on them (music, pics, movies). In the topmost pic I had about 300GB of Media, in the middle it went up to 750GB in 3-4 years....and after another year passed it went up again to about 980GB.


/e It starts slowly, you save a pic of your new build. Then maybe some pics of a new g/f, or some prOn. Then after a while you Overclock and save a bunch of pics for comparisons, benchmarks, more prOn, more movies..etc.
Then ya start helping other ppl, and save pics that will be useful when helping them..etc etc etc. It never stops.

i put my pictures and movies etc on my external drive tho ^^ only games and OS etc on ssd

Yeah, and I just unhook the Disk 3, after I made a copy of Disk 2 on it. So it is sort of an external, without actually being external. It's still in the case, (so when I copy Disk 2 to Disk 3 it's very fast)....just unhooked.

well anyways i'll get a hdd or use the one from my laptop if thats even possible (i really don't know) because once i get the desktop all working ill only use the laptop rarely when i need to travel and stuff... so it could be a copy of my ssd with games and os??

idk if laptop drives and desktop drives use the same socket etc tho ^^

my laptop disk is a hybrid, idk exacly what that is but im assuming its some sort of 3gb/s ssd mixed with a hdd? rly dont know xD

In your case with two comps....an External is the best choice. My point is that, it starts small, a few pics here and there, a movie or two etc....over time it gets ridiculous.

In your case I would probably wait a while then get like a 2 TB or 4TB external and partition it for the various things you save there.


Maybe this will make more sense...this is just what my Media stuff has grown to over the past 4-5 years or so...







/e To show you how easy it is to end up with zillions of files...pick one of the picture folders, and I'll post a pic from it. It doesn't matter which one.

/ee Btw, the Created Date as you can see is: June 19th 2014....which is when I realized I had to switch from 1TB storage disks to 2TB storage disks.

can't i just delete the files... i mean i watch movies and tv series then i delete the movie after a few days or week whatever, i never have more than 4-5movies or 1-2season of tv show at once on my laptop... i dont feel the need to acumulate them after i watched them and my download speed is good enought that if i feel like watching the movie again it only take 10-20min to redownload it np

but i get what ur point is ^^ ill get another hdd 7200rpm or wahtever eventually but for now i was on budget, wich is why i only got 1x 8gb of ram and a low end 144hz monitor ^^ eventually ill get another 8gb stick of ram+ another harddisk + another better monitor for dual monitoring shit

My speed is also good...58 DL / 71 UL.

As for movies or series...with Cable TV bills climbing AND the crap that's on most of the stations...saving the movies, will one day mean I can call Verizon and say, I don't need cable TV anymore.
