Need Windows pro verison's only, they need to join a domain.

Thank you i will review this one as well!

Trust me my friend they are currently using a thinclient and a RDS server that is so under powered anything I give them will be better lol.
Also I run scans in the evening so it doesnt impact them during work hours.

e/
Also I'm trying to eliminate us from having to rely on outside vendors, if a desktop dies on us we have to contact our vendor/troubleshoot than wait two days as they ship us a new computer...
vs. if something dies and we control everything inhouse I can pop a new HDD or mobo in and get them back up n running in an hour tops.. than deal with shipping back parts or ordering new ones.

in response to your last part. do you really want to just give them something better instead of something that works well? what about the users that shut off their computers at night. them scans and updates have to run sometime.. so most likely first thing in the morning when they are groggy and crabby. lol

I have them configured to wake on LAN.. so any packet request (sent from our APP server that hosts our AV server client) will boot them up to allow the scan to commence.

I got the IT side of my job covered mang, just needed some help with a cost effective build. Thanks though.

well the IT side of the job should take into consideration not giving people shitty computers. just because they are slightly better than their current shitty computer.

my explanation in my last response did not follow what I meant. I was actually referring to laptops that are brought out of the office not just shut down computers, but if you don't have laptops you don't have to worry about that I guess so you beat me on that part.

I think the main reason we aren't agreeing on anything is because of the environments we support. this may work just fine for you. however through time at my job we have determined what best suites our needs. if you have the staff and time to support/build these computers more power to you. before being bought out we actually did the same thing, but then after getting purchased and going from supporting 100 users to 700 users ideas drastically changed.

I've been in many situations whereas the company didn't want to spend xx amount of dollars and you have to make the best decision possible with a completely crap budget and then they give you a week timeline to get them all and have them up and running.

Why are you even trying to argue with this guy right now? You don't know the situation and circumstances.

/edit

You're getting mad because this guy is asking for different perspectives and advice and because is not taking what you say as law your calling him bad at his job. How fucking useless.
