I wasnt going to try and talk him out of it even though 3 monitors would be a better solution run in surround since you can curve the screen and you wont have to sit as far back to be able to see the whole screen.

But yes, you can connect a TV with VGA D-Sub, HDMI, DVI or DP just like monitors. Not all TVs will have the ports though.
