Specific budget? [avoid a wide range] -1000-1300 CAD
Will you complete Mail in Rebates? - depends on how much of a rebate an item is discounted at
Specific Uses for the PC (games, programs) - I play LOL, ladder slasher, occasionally WOW, and D2/D3. aside from that I compose music; along with use my pc to dj, and do photo editing ( Cubase, acid pro, biab, photoshop/cs5)
How much hard drive space do you want or need? - I currently have 3x2tb Seagate barracuda drives ( all sitting approximately 70% capacity) I require an additional 2/3tb drive ( prefer Seagate, no hybrid drives)
Do you want a Solid State Drive? - id love a SSD, but would need one about 500gb.
Do you want to overclock CPU and or GPU? -yes to both, sometimes needed for composition/photo/video editing
Do you need Windows? - I don't need windows as I have windows 7 ultimate retail
Need a Monitor? / Mouse? / Keyboard? - none of the above I use a 42"tv as my computer monitor, and recently replaced my kb and mouse
Will you use wireless or wired internet? - option for both if available, prefer wired, but as it stands at the moment, I have no choice but to go wireless ( N 1200+)

My apologies for jumping too quickly! you definitely have some more specific needs than the usual person who comes here with a build like that.
However I still think you have a better option.

So I am not very well educated about your programs, but I am a little.
As far as I know you want fast RAM, so the ideal situation would be to go over to the latest intel and use ddr4 ram...
but thats around 1500 or so.

Otherwise I have this
http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/GDRjFT

It's going to run your games no problem and do well for your programs, and it allows you to keep your more important components at higher levels.
Let me know what you think, Im sure the build can be tightened up but I think it's at least a good base to work with.
I did not have budget for higher GPU. If you could cut away some cost elsewhere, you could probably bump up to the 950 or 960. I did not look at AMd options due to adobe claiming nvidia has less issues, but I do not have the background to understand how accurate or real world that is.

I have the Asus Sabertooth 990fx and its been a great motherboard for the last few years

I am still rocking an 8350 (I think), 16gb of ram, dual 128gb SSDs, 3tb HDD, HD6870 (used to be duals)

Whole case runs PWM fans and is near silent when not playing graphically intense games
