On kind of a strange scheduel, so catching this a little late, i was under the impression that PCI-e was a faster interface than M.2? I can change out the Asus SSD for the Intel one, no big deal there.

You'll be fine running sli 980 ti's & a pci-e ssd.
If you're worried about adding stuff in the future, You could always get a motherboard with a PLX chip which adds more pci-e lanes.
Skylake has 16~, Z170 chipset has like 24~ built in.
So does this mean I have 24 or 40 lanes, im confused becuase i thought the CPU 16 would be the most useable, I have been following your z170 thread and i didnt see anything about PCI-e lanes in that one? Because i would obviously like to run at 16x but i looked at the results and 8x is negligably worse...

numbers aren't everything w/o dem bits n bytes!
but over9000!!!! is
This is what i saw also, the PCI-e is MUCH better/faster performance, or am i wrong?
