Nice!

It says on this site though, Fractal Design Core 1000 USB 3.0 MicroATX Mid Tower Case has front panel USB 3.0 ports, but the MSI H81M-P33 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard does not have onboard USB 3.0 headers.

That being said, I assume that means USB 3.0 in front won't work on this MOBO, can they still plugin to the MOBO and act as 2.0?

Assuming it comes with said adapter, all should work fine.

From my limited experience building two computers, the USB 3.0 plug is larger and has more pins. I'm guessing there's an adapter that you can plug the 3.0 cable into to be able to get it into the MOBO.

Check the package contents to see if they include it and if not you'll have to buy it seperately. A quick google search led me here, you'd need one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812162025
Reviews say it works mint.

Cool, thanks!

And thanks to NewKID and WWI!

Once I get it built, I'll see if I can't test what the benchmarks are and post a s/s, crediting NewKID for the build plan, before I send it off to it's new owner :)

I'd rather have the brix over the full sized tower for her needs

Why? Space isn't an issue to my knowledge, and upgradable components are always a huge plus

Sorry for the late reply. It just means you can't use the front usb 3 without getting an adapter to connect the front usb3 to the mobo.
To cut the hassle, here's a mobo with usb3 for a few more dollars https://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gah81ms2h
