Dx12 will purportedly make use of hyperthreading. so if hes going to blow 5k, could be worth it, since the i7 may actually be a useful gaming processor in the next 2-3 years

but also @ op
hardware developments slowed down pretty considerably as you just mentioned it takes quite a bit longer between upgrades nowadays.

thus this is true, im building another gaming pc, i also make videos/stream/edit/photo editing/ and i do after effects goes along with video editing. you could honestly do my build or what im looking for in a matter of around 3k. tho my current gaming pc is holding it down.
