I suggest don't touch that crap
and I said if u got a spare gpu
wait for benchmarks
Calls it crap -> Doesn't say why.
Has opinions about everything -> never anything to back it up
You're almost as bad as FedOx.
Generic doesn't mean bad. ASUS Strix 970 has been proven time and time again. Its a great GPU.
Skylake just came out. While the reviews are mixed, its worth the buy if you have Sandy Bridge or older.
Doesn't have 16 GB of RAM. Well, not everyone needs it. Besides, it wanted, its only $60 more CAD. Also, RAM is RAM. Just get the cheaper one with the same specs and lifetime warranty.
212 Evo? Skylake doesn't come with a stock cooler. Also, its one of if not the best cpu cooler in terms of cost to performance.
Z170-K Mobo... The only thing its missing is the ability to SLI. I can concede the motherboard since I did recommend 2x 970's (Although, I did say you could use a single 980ti in place) depending on the circumstances. So fine. Get the GA-Z170XP-SLI instead. There's no need to pay $40-100 more for the Z170 Pro, Z170X Gaming 5, or other boards.
Fractal R4 is a great case. How's it generic? No need to spend $40 more for the R5. OP didn't say if he wanted a window or not. That particular R4 doesn't have a window. That makes the color scheme of the parts not matter in the slightest. The motherboard could be neon green, the RAM purple, and the GPU hot pink and no one would ever know the difference.
The PSU is the EVGA B2. Its a Super Flower OEM. Plus it will run 2x 970's if needed. Its a bit expensive before rebate, sure, but its a quality PSU.
So what's so bad? The storage drivers?
You won't notice any real world performance difference between the XLR8 and the 850 Evo yet there's a $30 price difference.
The Seagate? Why pay $8 more for a WD Blue? There's no reason to. There's also no reason to pay $40 more a WD Black just for a warranty.
So what's left... the Optical drive? Remove it if you don't need it. No reason to get a different one.

battlefront uses dx12
so it might be less demanding than bf4
or it might require a lot more
so either buy a 980ti which is 700bux
or you might need to play not maxed
980ti's are over $800 in Canada.
