Some games rely more heavily on the GPU, some on the CPU. DayZ is one of those that relies more heavily on the CPU.

I have a 980ti and i get lagspikes on dayz.
Game is far from optimized!

for games like that I would honestly jump on an R9 260x or a Gtx 750 if your budget is only 100 bucks.
If it can flex though, I would try to get an r9 265 or 270.

yup, and he has an APU + plans on up to 260x/750.. it won't help much but it'll still be gg compared to apu graphix
