instead of 4k, you should consider ultra wide screen monitors. LG 34UM95, LG 34UC97, Dell U3415W, Samsung S34E790C. The first monitor is flat, but the latter three are curved. The resolution on these monitors are 3440x1440. There are 2560x1080 monitors as well. They come in 25", 29" and 34" monitors.

These don't come with freesync, though. If you're convinced that the 4k monitor you linked is the one you will get, you should consider two or more video cards.

Thanks for the replies, I've more away from anything 4k. I've also decided on the i5-4690k, unless anyone can provide other insights.

Can anyone recommend high quality IPS panels? Also looking for suggestions for SSD, graphics card options, cooling and power supply. Thanks !

I focus on the New Intel Skylake Porcessor and Z170 Motherboards . Go for the G1 Gigabyte imo -.0 .. Comes out in 2 months .. Instead getting outdated gear. if you buy the stuff that out now.. they prices will drop a lot when the new stuff releases in 2 months.. IMO just wait for the new stuff and you'll have a little more then 1.5k to spend.. if u can get a 1,850 you'll be able to get all the new gear ..
