I disagree. There's never a need for an i7 over an i5 unless you're working in a professional environment that utilizes hyperthreading. Streaming software is hyperthreaded, but games are not. The slight performance increase with the i7 over the i5 with things like OBS isn't worth the extra expense unless you're going to be making money from it (and more so than you would be making with an i5). This is even more true in the future if DX12 holds up to its advertisements and reduces stress on the CPU and places it on the GPU.

Now, this isn't to say that you shouldn't buy it if you want to. Its your (or the OP) money, spend it however unwisely you want to.
