Chinger, can you explain the difference on your friends and your pc?

I mean, how hot does yours go? And how hot would the 212 go with the same work, you think?

My current hits 65, low fan setting, just running PoE, and when i turn up the speed on the fan, it sounds like the wheal the fan runs on is broken or smth
So i don't dare to turn it up too much :p

I run the nh-d14 myself and my friends run the 212.

nh-d14's is quieter than 212 aswell as giving lower degrees than the 212.
It's only a matter of price and size compatibility

that mobo isn't the best to oc with. But it's not bad either. He can get good oc results anyway with this.

but as I said before, it's all a matter of price and if it fits your chassi!

unless ur friends computers are in the same room as your computer, the temp will vary a lot due to a variables like diff room temp, diff builds etc.

The mobo isn't great for any hardcore OCing since it's LE and lacks heatsinks, so there's no point paying double for a cooler that's meant to OC well.
Either coolers does its job for decent OCs, also there isn't a huge difference in temperature between the two either

i own both d14 and evo 212, though different builds in the same room, the temp. difference is max like 9 deg on load, and nearly identical on idle.
you could get d14, if money isn't an issue cos it is in fact better, and can be re-used in the future as long as you have a decent case for it

You do make a good case here sir!
Money is a problem, i can afford the D14, but half the price for a 212 Evo is surely good.
And i guess, as i don't need to OC it now, there's not much point to getting the D14?

And if you claim the 212 Evo can handle a decent oc very well, i guess it's the logical choice? :)

Ofc. But his chassi is aswell not as good as mine. There's much that adds up to what degrees you got

212, im running the 8320 at 4.4 oc'd with it and sitting at 44 celc. at 4.0(stock) it sits at around 30 C. its quiet, cheap, and keeps it a helllll of alot cooler than the stock heatsink they come with. Don't be a fool, dont waste money on some noctua when you can get this for a 1/3 of the price and see the SAME exact results :)

SAME exact results?

You won't get close to the same results if you add in everything in every aspect of the nh-d14 vs 212.
What weighs down is the price ofc, but don't say they perform exact same.
