This is completely true, however that will really only affect his benchmarking. His boot times and loading times of programs won't actually be limited.

Actually... they will...

If sata2 has a max bandwidth of 300mb/s how do you expect anything else to exceed that.

SSD's don't increase FPS. Waste of money.

Unless you're some special needs kid who cant wait 5 extra seconds for a game to load.

Exactly, think of it as a car, it won't make it drive faster, only to start the engine faster, no point, when the price diff

It'll save you some time when booting OS, when starting any program installed on it, opening documents and when editing/rendering etc.
It won't net you higher FPS, but save some loading times in games.
In general it's more or less for convenience only, but once you have one and get used to work with it, you'll never build a system without one again.

Hola,

So I've heard a lot about SSDs recently. I have this mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130269

Can anyone suggest an SSD that is compatible with my mobo? My friends told me it is greatly worth it to get one, but I don't know how to choose one  .

is it worth getting a SSD since i just have sata 2 on my motherboard

I use an Intel 320 120gb with a SATA 2.0 3gbit/s port (aka SATA 2). The performance is still fast compared to any HDD. You'll still experience fast load times. You just wont use a SATA 3 SSD to its fullest potential.

IMO, If you're not satisfied the computers performance, you should use the money to upgrade your computer first. SSDs are "luxury" products. It's not a necessity.

Samsung 850 EVO 250GB :)

So I bought this, but in order to place it in my build and still keep the old HDD, I had to move my GPU (the wires would not fit if the GPU was in it's old location).

I have successfully installed the SSD and have transferred all of my files over to it, however - my GPU is not being recognized now that it is in a new slot (I have this MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130269). I have tried figuring out why that may be through google/other tech forums, but I cannot find the answer.

Based on this: , I currently have it in the blue slot to the left of 890GXM-G65 ("NEW"). It used to be in the blue slot to the right of the 890GXM-G65 (right above the msi text, "OLD") .

Can you figure any reason it may not work, or what I may have to do to be recognized again? The fan turns on, and everything is properly plugged in... I'm lost -_-

edit: to make it slightly more fascinating... I have two monitors and a TV hooked up to the GPU, which the computer is telling me is not recognized... and yet, one of the monitors is working right now (it has been working this whole time). The other ones do not work, however. I am not sure if this would help, but I thought it was curious
