Motherboard = same color = 75$ saved
PSU = better = 55$ saved
Cooler = better = 10$ more
RAM = 8 GB less @1600MHz = 90$ saved

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9y2KdC

Except for RAM overclocking (which doesn't help in anything but benchmarks), that's the same performance and a better-cooled, more silent system for ~220$ less.
That money could either be saved or invested in a larger SSD, a 4C/8T CPU or even a GTX 980 :)

Yes, why not?

Because a B85 Mobo is better for an unlocked CPU.

B85 would possibly need a BIOS update before even working with Devil's Canyon. H97 works out-of-the-box.
Should you ever want to upgrade the CPU, H97 is guaranteed to work, while B85 isn't.
B85 boards in red/black (partpicker filters) are also more expensive than my choice, while offering less USB3.0 plugs etc. .

Okay, then do the BIOS update. Huge deal, right?

The USB 3.0 plugs are a weak excuse not to go with a B85, especially since the board can do the one thing that an H97 can't. And price? You get what you pay for.

B85 > H97
