works.. but for that budget, you can do a lot better.
here's some tips, you mentioned "future proof" while that doesn't exist, you should be going for 4th gen instead of 3rd gen.
getting a cx psu at that budget isn't well spent either, 16gb ram is overkill, 8gb is more than enough for your purpose

Close to the budget you posted on that one you linked for 1880... assumed something close to that is fine... pick out a keyboard you would like..

I suggest windows 8.1... because it can still play d2 and it's not losing support like windows 7 will be... plus windows 8.1 users get a free upgrade to windows 10 when it releases.

i changed your mobo

Ill note: your monitor is 144 hz, that is exceptionally expensive over traditional monitor. As long as you know it's 144 hz and want a 144 hz over a regular one, it is no issue, otherwise you may want to get a slightly cheaper 60 hz one.

the 980 is a great card, but its just a smidgeon better than the 970, which is almost 200-230 dollars cheaper.
You can compare the 2 side by side here, http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1355?vs=1351
and then judge whether 200 dollars is worth the extra 5-10 frames.

kool thx man I probably will just go for the 970 and save the extra for a chair and mouse and as for the monitor I think it's ok for the price...? any suggestions for around the same price?

I don't have an issue with the price, just not sure if you needed the 144 hz is all. :)
Just so we're on the same page, you're educated on monitor refresh rate and it's relevance? [I'm only asking since you claimed your only game requirement is diablo 2, which absolutely doesnt care about refresh rate]

You can get a typical 24 inch 60hz 1080p display for 150 bucks.
