As for the HDD, you're fine with a WD Blue. Since you're going to be using an SSD (which the OS is most likely going to be installed on), the regular HDD won't be constantly spinning. The Black series is built for constant spinning. The Blue series is for "Mainstream Consumer" usage which they think means your PC won't be running 24/7.

If you want to, you can spend the extra $20, but, in my opinion, you don't need to.

I do run my computer more than it has to, easily 10-12 hours a day and some times 24/7 for a bit.
SSD would def have the OS and most commonly used applications, maybe a few games depending on how much room i have left on it after all is said and done.
Does that mean the HDD would only spin when it is retrieving a file or using a program off of it?

I think i may want to go for the black just for the 3 years of warrenty, probably worth the 20$

Ghot, Why a 750W PSU PCpartspicker estimated wattage is 379 couldn't i save by going to a 500? or is the idea just to have Power for future upgrade since PSU is an inexpensive part?

It's 5 years I meant that Its a 3 year warranty gain on the Blue version (20$ less) which is 2 year warranty

Sorry that was unclear! (and misspelt :P)

So, I Haven't changed anything

But here the build atm: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/

Im trying to reconcile it back into budget now.

Do i need a 3.5 - 8 core processor?
I have a 2.4 quad atm and i am never at capacity i think my GPU and ram are the limiters If not what is a good value alternative.

Is there a case that is less expensive and will serve my purpose with proper ventilation?

is the PSU over power/ can it be downgraded.

What is a good value Graphics card if i decide the 970 is too expensive?

i think you should stick with the 8320

as far as gpu could go with the 290 or 290x (depending on sales), which are better price/performance

you could probably downgrade the PSU...popular PSU brands on here are evga, corsair, and seasonic...if you can't find a price you like in these, go off reviews/ratings

500watts is probably okay...although if you switch the gpu to the 290/x, the recommended wattage will go up so take that into consideration..as far as cases it's really budget dependent...i'm not as familiar as others with different cases at different price points...so far, in my personal experiences, I like fractal (r4) and Bitfenix (Ronin)

assuming your budget is 1k?
http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/J3M7nQ
it's brack n red, quality stuffs under 1k.
8320e version for $2 less is a steal, cos it uses less power, and if you ever want to OC, it'll be easier to do compared to 8320.
mobo has a $25MIR, and it's pretty damn good for ~$100 mobo. Can change it to Asus r2.0 if u wanna save $$
ram is ram, u save $6, bonus it's a gskill ram and same 1866 speed as the corsairs u picked.
as for the hard drive, the black caviar is great and all, but honestly, $80 for a HDD isn't. Especially if you plan on using an SSD. I've only had 1 toshiba hdd, and a super old seagate 320gb hdd fail on me. None of 1tb seagate nor blue that i own, nor have i heard from the ppl i built for.
970 is really up to you, evga's 970 is the "weaker/less demand" compared to gigabyte/msi/asus but has a GFG customer service.
cases in canada are expensive, a decent one goes for $40 if lucky, but averages ~$50. Right now, the 200r is only $54.99 (normally 60+), so i'd get that. Other options you can get atm is Cougar Solution ($50) or Bitfenix Comrade ($48 in white)
get the powersupply i picked (mines b2 urs is b1), cos it's made by superflower which is a GFG psu maker. (also it's better spending $20 more on psu for quality, warranty, wattage, modular, than on the HDD)
lmk if u wanna just save $$ and give 0 fucks about the looks, the case dun even have window neways

if u wanna go intel, costs slight more
