yeah and it's too large to fit into the four points i think it's supposed to go into.
The four points are in a rectangular shape and the backplate is a square, it can extend but only into a bigger square.

I don't get how you can't read the manual, are you sure you're checking the am3 guide? There's different guides, just black out the intel socket guides with blanks or something and you'll have easier reading it

on the am3+ guide, it has only 2 steps and they aren't too instructive.

1. Assemble the retention plate. Refer to the illustration
2. Push down the level to secure the plate

however, the illustrations aren't clear.

this cooler will block two ram slots anyways. its huge.

Low profile ram's will probably fit in.
Hyper t4 ain't that large, it's like medium sized.

Will download manual and check it for you.

ok have checked the manual, I see no hard steps in it. Are you sure you're using the correct parts for the installation?
