What's Ur gpu?
6300 is really easy to overclock with 212.. U don't even have to go crazy.. Just clock it to 4.0 it'll be literally nothing for that cpu. But if Ur uncomfortable with it, then oh well.
That cpu shouldn't bottleneck anything yet, it might be that you have a weak gpu. But yeah, heating problems can also cause chopping as well.

280x, as in OP :P

Oh didnt see it lol
Yeah it's probably heat causing throttle imo.
280x is good enuff to play it higher than lowest settings

dis is why benchmarks are derpy. A lot of people dun know what they are seeing aside from colorful barz!
The reason why people get 8320E over 8350 is cos they are the same CPU.. but 8320e clocked lower and uses less energy, which means that you can overclock it like crazy, which can either match or go beyond 8350 performance while saving money.
it's also the reason why people get 6300 over the 6350, 6300 uses less energy, so it can OC way easier etc.etc.
and yeah, gaming wise, upgrading 6300 to 8350 won't be worth it.
just overclock your 6300, if you have an aftermarket CPU cooler.
Why do you feel that the CPU is bottlenecking your GPU? what GPU do you have? what games does it struggle in?

lol stats and hard facts presented are derpy

you get to see how the coding from one game/benchmark/program to another affects the performance

I'd also like to note my GPU never goes above 45ish C. It's been a while since my thermal paste has been replaced so we'll see how the 212 and new paste does. if I really won't notice much change with the 8350, the least I can do is try a cooler cpu and go from there.

i agree you should just stick with your current CPU and overclock it. in fact, i'd look into a Xigmatek Dark Knight II because i'm see'ing some good temps outta them. and tek syndicate made a video, was performing at par and beyond in some cases, then the H100. get a twin pack of static preasure corsair SP120 fans ( like 27$ ), and if you wanna spend what you were oging to on a new CPU, get something new on your desk ( mouse, keyboard, maybe speakers? )

oh, and you didn't list what mobo you have.

oh and for reference, i've been rocking an AMD Anthlon II x3 440 Rana triple core CPU, with my gtx 660 for a while and i can max crysis 3 with AA turned down ( like 2x ) and have pretty playable enjoyable fps. i even ran MaLDo mods. so if you feel the need to upgrade CPU for a pretty slight bump in performance instead of waiting ( like for instance, a sabertooth 990fx mobo with an AMD fx 9590 ) then go for it.

Yeah I'm not arguing about that, it's the fact that most ppl who aren't comp savy dun understand what they r seeing aside from colourful barz = guzi. So based on the benchmark on stock u wud pay extra for 8350 instead of 20e? Or since Ur intel fan, u buy lock version vs unlocked right? Cos benchmarkz OP

@bolded, well I know they say chip and both can pretty much oc the same, just depends on silicon lottery getting any farther

@underline you can overclock the locked version too, unlocked is just ezier $10 bucks more for higher resell value can play into it also

testing them at stock is to give you an all around idea of performance, w/o putting silicon lottery variable into the equation

thats why some reviews have oc'd results too

So basically Ur saying u wouldn't. cos it's not smart thing to do, due to resell value and convenience . But based on them benchmarkz it doesn't tell an everyday casual nothing but colourful barz, which is my point.

This is my mobo: MSI 970A-G46 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

And how does the Xigmatek Dark Knight II compare to the 212 Evo? I don't know anything about the Xigmatek.

performs the same and/or better, looks better, only slightly more expensive.
