Imo its always better to go max on 1 gpu and if you ever want later you can add one for SLI
but to start with sli 970s... nah

just sounds like a bad investment. more 970's will be on the market ( used ), he will have to price it accordingly.

If the market holds true with the 900 series as it did with the 700 series, the 970 will only drop to about 280-310 new and about 200 used once the 980ti comes out. The 980 will suffer a similar percentage hit, but will be a higher monetary value since it costs more anyway.
