Update;
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qTFfkL

e; I went for the 1000w EVGA plat PSU but according to partpicker, as of now I only need 486w.
I am rounding this 486w to 500w and assuming I should be good with double that (just in case).
Is my OCD kicking in or am I right?

Under full load on +10% power each GTX 970 will cap out at 300 watts or so. The most power you'll need with two of those cards is 800 watts. Even then, you'd likely be fine with 750.

Also, I suggest you get a Corsair Air 540 rather than that Phanteks case. Further, you're not going to get much more performance from a 850 Pro over an 840 Evo. You're just paying an extra $60 for basically nothing. Can't imagine you'd need 16GB of RAM for anything either.
You're paying $60 extra for 8.1 Pro over 8.1 for features you won't use. In a home environment, you aren't going to need the extra network and management utilities like Group Policy or Domain Join. You also are clearly not going to need support for two CPUs or 512GB of RAM.

The monitor caps at 120 fps though so wouldn't it need a bit more power?
My current monitor is 60 fps.

That monitor your linked is actually 144hz aka 144fps.

1kw is WAY overkill.

For 2 970 or 2 980's 750 is plenty

850 if you're super paranoid

Running mine on a Antec HCG 750w psu

doesnt even warm it up

Are you actually going to use the i7/16gb ram? Do you video/photo edit heavily? etc.

My motto is why even pay for windows in the first place ^_~

@Rikou
I don't video/photo edit heavily but this is what I'm upgrading from and I want to make sure it's a future proof/ BIG upgrade.

Processor: i7 920 @ 4.0
Motherboard: ASUS P6X58D Premium
Memory: OCZ 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 1600
Video Card: GTX 680 Classified @ 1250 Max Boost
Hard Drive: Western Digital Black 640GB 7200RPM
Hard Drive: Samsung 840 Pro Series 256 GB SSD

The only thing I've upgraded in the past 5 years was the GPU (had a 5870 AMD) and I picked up an SSD.
Think I'll go for the 750w plat supernova then.

@Dexah
I will switch windows 8 pro to normal windows 8.
I already own a samsung pro 840 256 GB but planning to give my current PC away so I need an upgrade. I could go with another 840 pro but the 850 reviews and benchmarks show a big improvement over 840.
Gonna stick with the phanteks primo case since it won best tower 2013 award and its little brother (phanteks enthoo pro) is about to win 2014 case, enthoo pro was my first choice but the primo is much bigger.

My point being that you will never notice the difference between the i5/i7 or 8gb/16gb unless your're using photoshop/video editting heavily.

I don't mind paying a little extra for overkill as long as its future proof.
