I picked up the same ram but red and the fans have red rings aswell. It the dark pro 3 big?

It fits in the case and looks great imo. It IS actually quite big though... go have a look yourself. Looks kind of classy :)

It does look pretty neat so if I switch to that air cooler I can keep the stock fans and be fine?

Yes, definitely.
I'd probably keep 2x 120mm fans in the front, and use the 2 remaining fans for rear and top (up to you where you'd like the 140mm fan)...
