This is the current build I'm looking at as per the advice so far
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rKwsjX
I'm open for changes on the ram, the ssd (heard the newer ones by samsung are awesome but don't know which ones), the power supply wattage, and cpu cooler
I also am taking ideas on a mid tower case.

yup that's a good build if ur trying to keep it on low $$$.
though, i'd change the power supply to the rosewill capstone one i linked.
for a samsung ssd http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E3W1726/?tag=pcpapi-20
samsung ssd is great, cos it's pretty reliable and they make everything on their own. I'd say it's worth the extra $$ since u have the budget for it.
Though, SSD performances are pretty similar so it's up 2 u if u wanna spend a lil more or not.

For cases, any corsair is pretty good. Check out BitFenix Ronin or Fractal design r4 w/ window as well

That's what I was wondering. 16 sounds good. Does it need to be much higher than ddr3 1600?

I mean I, like most, would prefer to keep costs down. But if the cost/performance ratio is worth it, I will upgrade things
What's the benefit to the rosewill capstone power supply?
I'll definitely change up the SSD to that samsung then. I would prefer reliability for sure.

you could go with 1866, you won't notice any real performance difference between the two, there is one, it's just small.
i wouldn't go higher than 1866

1866 editted out for you.
nothing wrong with corsair mx100, it was on sale from newegg @ 89.99, that's why it was there. very good ssd.
samsung is even better tho :)

Ah thanks. I think my build is getting pretty close to complete

One last question for you all. Is cpu and Internet upload speeds the main things for streaming on sites like twitch? If so, will this build handle streaming? I already am set on Internet speeds cause I live in provo and have Google fiber :)

yeah the build won't have any problems, streaming as in you playing a game, and streaming it online requires at least 10upload for it to look crisp & smooth af, but 5upload will work too. Anything under 5 will be shitty quality.
Also, change the CPU to this one http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009O7YUF6/?tag=pcpapi-20
it's the same CPU, just clocked higher than the 8320. Normally it's around 150bux, but it's only $5 more than the 8320 atm. So just buy it

also benefit of the rosewill psu is that it's manufactured by super flower which is pretty GG for psu's. They are quiet and provides 5yr warranty.
corsair psu is also GG, but it's their cheap model made by great wall and it's not as good as the higher end psu's when compared imo. It's also not as quiet, i think the RM series are more focused for dat and has only 3yr warranty.
Though it's still a solid PSU when you are on budget, especially at $29 after MIR.

You sir are awesome and very informative. Thanks a ton. That's awesome the 8350 is on sale for that price. I feel like it won't get any cheaper even around black friday, so I may just buy that part today.
I'll definitely have the upload speeds. currently I have ~70Mb upload lol.
I definitely think I would prefer quiet and a better warranty so good point. But yeah that MIR made the corsair so affordable lol.

So the MSI 270 gaming motherboard is out of stock on newegg, and ~$30 more every where else in comparison
Any other recommendations for motherboard? I am trying to steer away from a motherboard with a Realtek lan chipset. I really like the sound of the chipset on the 970 gaming
I already bought the 8350 when it was on sale, so needs to be compatible with amd processors
and I'm looking around ddr3 1600-2133 ram so needs to be compatible with that

Also, my budget has increased slightly. After buying the processor, I still have $1000 to spend and want to push it to it's limit if it shows a noticeable difference in performance

This is one motherboard that was recommended as a replacement. Is it as good or better than the 970 gaming?
