for ram, 8gb is plenty.
cpu nowadays are GG, so intel 4670k, 4690k, or fx 8320e, 6300 any of those will do GFG justic
vid card, 970 would be the best thing to purchase in terms of price/perf.
otherwise anything around 270x/760+ will be fine too

Perfect, thank you!

I am strongly leaning towards an Intel/Nvidia setup... is the i7 that much better than an i5? How do the 7, 8, 9 nvidia series compare to each other?

Specifically for WoW, you arent going to notice any performance increase going from i5 to i7.

in gaming, it's not that much better between i5/i7 so most people get i5 cos it's not worth spending the extra $$$ for i7.
i7 is more beneficial if you are a super dedicated video maker/editor and do it for a living or somethin to earn $$$

for video cards.. it goes something like this
980/780ti>970/780>770>760

I've always heard it was:
980>780ti>970>780...

Yes, and perhaps yes.

I have not tried streaming yet, as my wife's video card is terrible and barely to keep up with just playing WoW atm.

Well for price vs money now, a 780 ti would be ideal for under 400.

Your budget will allow you to explore in the world of streaming. Just as long as you have a good internet connection to your modem/router

Yes, I have great connection to my modem/router... it is right next to my computer.

(hint-hint.. sarcasm...)

I currently have a 100 Mbps/10 Mbps connection, but will probably drop back down to a 50/5 package.
