May as well go all out, right? =P
But yes, the 8350 will likely perform better in a real world scenario. That 220w TDP on the 9590 is... insane.

won't net you any noticeable performance in gaming unless streaming

will net you performance gains in other things though

i7-4790k, though

No, just a stupid choice
More power draw, heat, 8350 likely to be the same in real world performance
But you still use the 9590 :P

Go with something like this and save like 300+ $.

GTX 970 >>> GTX 980. 980s aren't worth the higher price when it comes to visible output.
Go with a simple but efficient air cooling solution for your CPU. Macho probably offers the best price/performance-ratio of all air coolers.
Ignore the warning... the cooler will fit into that case.

If you can get them cheaper somewhere, buy NB eLoops (2 should be enough) as case fans.

The point about the video card is valid, but there are a few issues with your build that stand out.

There's no reason to get the Macho versus like a CM 212 Evo purely because if he's never overclock before that when he does, it will likely only be a mild overclock and the temperature won't increase very fun. Sure, the Macho can run fanless on no overclock or a very slight overclock, but doesn't justify paying almost twice as much for a cooler.
No reason to pay that much for a PSU either. The system pulls about 350 watts. You can get a CS500M for $35.
He probably doesn't need a 2TB HDD, but who knows? Maybe he downloads a lot of videos and can use it.
Corsair 200R is about half the price of that BitFenix for very similar performance.

Nearly identical performance as the build you posted for $150 less.

Thanks everyone, should be ordering soon. Might end up having to order CPU and GPU from Canada. They sometimes pull you over and tax you coming back across (14% in BC) for things over 300+

Why only 8 gigs of memory? Is Zeus some kinda super ram? And is there any one site that's generally good? Seems like having to order shit from the 4-5 different sites on that part thing is going to suck ass.

i don't think you'd utilize more than 8 gb...although i don't think you'd utilize the i7 either, but i was going for dat bigdik status

zeus was the cheapest $/gb with the lowest CAS @ 1600 mhz...so i went with that...

generally it's more cost effective to order fro wherever is cheapest, site wise...
