so my friend is saying i should get a heatsink and not to just use the stock 1 so that will need to be thrown into the budget now :S

Unnecessary if you don't plan to overclock and don't have the budget for it.

If you can fit it into your budget without having to downgrade any parts, I would get this: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr212e20pkr2
It'll help to improve airflow slightly and is necessary for overclocking down the road. But again, do not get this if it means you're going to go with a GTX 760 rather than a 770; an aftermarket cooler will make a negligible difference compared to a CPU or GPU upgrade. You can always pick one up in the future when you decide to OC.

well in worst case scenario I can go as high as $1000 with taxes (CC limited to that much), but I'd prefer to keep it around how much I currently have to spend xD
and i think the one you originally linked might actually end up over that limit once taxes get applied

Posterchild for why we tell people "don't post unless you plan on buying within 2 days". :)

+1 to getting the GTX 970. It's a much better investment assuming you plan to continue gaming for the next several years.
e/ Nvm, forgot this was Canada... I would have to actively look at prices to give a proper suggestion, wait till tonight if interested.
