You seem to pick the cheapest part without realizing what it means. You use cheap "high end' parts to inflate your ego.

case is NOT better, it is CHEAPER with LESS feature sets means it is WORSE.

gpus you chose are GARBAGE, you use a SHIT "benchmark" to validate your findings. NO ONE HERE uses that site because it tells you NOTHING. Use actually benchmarks, non reference 7870xt > reference 7950. non reference 7970 > reference deisgn 680.

Also uhhhhhhmmmmm I use 450 watts in an overclocked 2500k and 7950 build

do you have any proof that the cpu cooler you have in your build is better then mine? because this cpu cooler i have in mine is pretty much the best you can get for your money. by proof , i do not mean more expensive.
the power supply i put in is fine , as they do not want to overclock.
i didn't chose the case , the op wanted that case. i would've just put in a bitfenix merc alpha/beta personally. newegg is to avoid like the plague in canada , as the shipping rates are too ridiculous. rosewill is the home brand of newegg.
your graphics card is stronger ,  but i mentioned i let the op be flexible with the case because they wanted this one. therefore , your build is more expensive in this point.

the gtx 680 is a joke, the hd 7970 is better
that unit isn't garbage , so it will be able to provide. anyways , there's 100$ dedicated for the case for the op. with the remaining money , they can always get a better one.
my case isn't my personal choice , like i mentioned before.
your cpu cooler is more expensive, but until i see some proof yours is better , i do not believe you.

I mostly agree with you, but the 7970 is actually slightly worse than the 680 for a game such as battlefield while using 1080p settings at ultra. Where the 7970 shines is during larger resolutions (2560x1440 and up) where you can really see the card shining.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-7970-ghz-edition-review-benchmark,3232-8.html <-- if you're interested :)

With that said, I'd still pick the cheaper 7970, simply because you can ignore the difference because of the price tag on the 7970. Overclockability should be somewhat similar, from what I've seen around.

My build is CHEAPER than yours, even WITH the better GPU.
Your PSU is fine for your $800 build, but cutting it close. It is NOT fine to support a 7970 on a 500w PSU. Do not debate this, you are wrong.
The cooler has higher reviews on every website you can find and Zalman has always been better than shit master for CPU cooling (though, the one in your build IS my favorite choice for more budget conscious builds.. good price/performance).
OP did not want the HAF in his build.. he said he "detests them."
The challenger is just as good as the HAF and $30 cheaper, why would you go with the HAF and sacrifice money on aesthetics vs. performance? That's nonsense.

You are WRONG about the 7970 being better, I have posted HARD PROOFS against you in this matter and you need to admit it. The 680 runs circles around the 7970 you AMD fanboi.

the benchmarks are almost 1 year old, new drivers have been released.

I agree with your first point, but please don't link to videocardbenchmark.. worst website to ever have existed really..

That's right, was looking for a newer bench but kinda gave up. If you find one feel free to share, i'm curious how they line up as I'm looking to get a 7970, or perhaps next gen of either nvidia or AMD.

7950 is not 7970, 2500k is not 8320... Why are you trying to protect a bad investment on that PSU? You know damned well that it's a bad idea and that it's risking OP's build integrity. This is not a competition so much as a debate to find OP the best possible build for his money.

GTX 680 > 7970, especially when I did it in the exact same budget as the 7970 build. It's better at gaming, it's better at everything, and telling someone to get the 7970 instead of 680 EVEN WHEN SPENDING THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY, is irresponsible.

We do too use Passmark, it uses hundreds of 3Dmark results...

Find me some other benchmarks then, and shun yourself when you find out I'm right.

You have literally contributed nothing to this thread. Get out of here. Unless you have a proper build to post, better than both Dolar's and Mine, then leave and stop spamming.

A way you COULD contribute to this is to find a reliable benchmark that we can all agree upon, that shows the 7970 as being superior to the 680. You won't find this. But if you do, I'd love to see it, and I will stop promoting the 680 afterward.
