So can I get help with the ideal mobo and heatsink.
I might crossfire later on and I will OC the CPU if needed to 3-3.5ghz.
What's a safe temp for the i7 under full load?

i7 and 965 are virtually neck in neck for gaming, i7 can overclock further, which gives you no bonus for gaming

difference is, 965 is $190
i7 is $280

1366 mobos can easily top $200-300, $170 if your lucky

AM3 mobos dont even hit $200 (sans 1 overpriced foxconn)

so AM3 for a 965BE and motherboard, ~340-350

i7+ mobo ~ 450-500+

not to mention the increased cost to have to get tri-channel RAM

Im sure by the time 6-core CPUs come out, games will be edging towards using half the current quad cores processing power

No, i7 and 965 is not even close in gaming. Overclocked 965 vs stock 920.. close.

Both o/c'd

The Ph II isn't even sworth mentioning.
