How about Framework laptop? It's so customizable, but best thing, it's repairable and upgradable in future if you ever need it. Quality is top notch.

Only not sure if the 16" version qualifies as thin for you :P

Damn wtf! This is such a cool concept!

I'm going to pass on that though even though I like the concept.

You actually have me looking back at the Macbook Pro w/ M5, but I want to wait for the new release this fall...just so far away.

Edit: The 16 inch Pro M5 max is releasing in March...just in time, but then M6 in late 2026?

Heh I Have M2 max and can't see any upgrade to that any time soon. Don't think there will be any perceivable differences between m5 and m6

or m2 to m6 for that matter lol

also it's possible they'll release base M6 for eg. Air line of models, but keep M5 for 1-2 years longer. Like mac studio has m4 max / m3 ultra, still, today. Current mbp is m5, or m4 max/pro

I agree, because of their previous timelines and because they are about to release the 16 inch M6 version in a week or two, i'm sure they will hold the 16 to the M5 for a while.

You still love your M2? My M1 14 inch is so slow and laggy now. I even reformatted, but it's still terrible for what I want to do in terms of development and AI...

Yeah, i'm aiming for a top tier Windows gaming laptop.

I'ved used MacOS for 10+ years and am tired of it hence my quest to find the best thin gaming laptop.

I'm definitely looking at the G16 with a 5070Ti and Ultra 9... It's for sure at the top of my list.

I like the Razer Blade 16 form factor the most, but I keep hearing horror stories...

I also switched from a Macbook pro too. I just wanted to play games again after 15+ years of focusing on my career lol. I did extensive research prior and definitely happy with my choice in the Zephyrus G16. Plus ive owned many Asus hardware before and always good stuff. The 2026 model has improved airflow design too.

But yea, if youre looking for top tier windows gaming laptop that is thin and portable for travel…. I vouch the Zephyrus 💯 good luck brother

Great to hear. That’s my #1 Windows laptop currently.

Not as clean looking as the Macbook or Razer Blade but for what its performance, i’ll take it.

It was even able to run deepseek 70b, not fast and not well but it loaded :)

Nice! I run about 10 agents on my computer to help me min/max tasking and development hence the need for a very strong laptop.

I'm just so used to Windows development as my main application is a Windows exclusive product. This is another reason why i'm wanting to stay in the realm of Windows.

I guess Wine has been improved on? It used to be terrible when I used it a decade ago.

eh you probably don't want wine to do windows development, you're gonna have a bad time. It's great for using some programs and playing most games tho. Steam did magnificent job at that.

Yeah, is there another good way to do Windows dev on a Mac?

If not, I may just get the Zephyrus G16.

It's pretty much the G16 or MPro M5 Max.
