$1,640 for the cpu + gpu + mobo for you to build that yourself. Add $100 for a case, $100 for psu, $120 for a cooler, $150 for ram, $50 for fans

Give or take the brands of parts you would buy that’s about $2,100 - $2,300

The question is do you want to build it yourself or not.

You should ask them if they can upgrade the ram to 32gb 3600 (this is the recommendation for ram with the 5900x)

The link above shows the total price based on specific parts that are known or well documented from the MicroCenter link.

I'm going to say the other parts are going to be around
2TB SSD - $300
32GB 3200MHz RAM - $150
RTX 3080 GPU - $700 (FE) to $1200 (AIB)
750W PSU - $80 (bronze) to $120 (gold or higher)

no not really, ive built a couple pcs before and its a pita. I was checking out what prebuilts might be a good deal and saw this at my local microcenter. I'm not sure they can upgrade the ram, but maybe so.

so it seems like the price of the prebuilt is pretty close to the price of the parts separately if not cheaper plus not the hassle of building it myself.

It’s microcenter and powerspec is their own brand of prebuilt. They might if you ask the right person. I bought one from them several years ago and I asked them to change the zotac gpu and they went to the shelf and pulled a different brand and stuck it in for me and they kept the zotac, no questions asked.

not a fan of the 3080, i feel like you should either splurge for the 3090 or downgrade to a 3060 ti or 3070 to save $. the performance per cost on the 3080 doesnt seem worth it.

Which PSU? Take a look at NZXT prebuilts while you’re at it.

They use their own brand, powerspec. I’m assuming a 750w bronze

I bought one of those NZXT BLD models a few months back for $1899. Came with an i5 11600k, kraken aio cooler, MSI wifi mobo, MSI RTX 3070, Seasonic 850w gold PSU, 16gb 3200mhz ram, 1TB m.2 ssd, and nice NZXT case. It ended up costing me $800 loss to buy a pre-built because of GPU prices. I built every other PC in the past but times are different!
