So I recently upgraded my graphics card from a 1050ti to a Vega 64.

whenever I plug the pins from the power supply into the card and turn the pc on, the monitor doesnt detect HDMI.

regardless of the hdmi being plugged into the motherboard OR the graphics card my screen still will not recognize any hdmi.

When I turn the pc off and unplug the pins from the graphics card the computer boots fine (hdmi to motherboard)


I first guessed this was a power supply issue? like I need to upgrade

I have a 600w smart thermaltake currently.

website says minimum 550w I figured I would be okay

You've confirmed that other inputs work? (displayport, vga, dvi) or it doesn't boot up at all when you have the graphics card plugged in?
You should never use the HDMI's on your motherboard unless you have on-board graphics.

explain, cause I don't understand the issue.

Explain to me in any scenario you would use the motherboard inputs aside from on board.

multi monitor display.
Can have it run in unison with gpu to power more monitors.

My point is plugging it into the port whether you have it or not is not damaging yet you make it seem so.

Didn't even know that was a thing, thanks for the enlightenment.

When I plug the hdmi into the gpu the pc will turn on but the monitor will not detect any HDMI

So, I switch the hdmi to the motherboard, still nothing.

When I unplug the power supply from the gpu and go to boot it boots up normally.

reset bios
reseat gpu
move gpu to another pci slot
update bios
change psu

what i'd be doing next in that exact order personally.

Did you remove old nvidia driver lol
