Budget: $200-225 CAD roughly
More specific use (what games, what programs): Fortnite
Planned time until purchase: Anytime, can wait for a sale
Do you need an Operating System?: Win 10
Do you have any specific preferred components?: 144hz
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): Ontario, Canada

Hey all, thanks for helping me out. I took your advice on a gaming Pc previous last april and works really well still. I've heard the 60hz to 144hz is quite the difference for fortnite and would like to try it out. I know these monitors are pricey so if I could keep it under $200 ish that'd be great. No DELLs unless you feel strongly otherwise.

Thank you.

You wanna keep it under 200$ and have a maximum budget of 225$ CAD? Well good luck finding a 144hz monitor on sale.

Oh, I am being naive then. towards dell - I should be open to all.

I would say up to $300ish then... I'm also learning that there are different display types, TN/VA/IPS ?

The cheaper models are not really available when I click em from pickerparts.ca.

Which dell would you recommend? Costco.ca has a benQ for $299, TN style.

Edit:

I have a nvidia graphic card so I believe it also has to be G-sync compatible yeah?

Read this and you know the basic between panel technologies: https://www.trustedreviews.com/news/ips-vs-tn-vs-va-gaming-performance-colour-explained-2948955
Dell is definitively one of the better monitor brands. Their quality control are among the best.

And no you don't need an monitor with G-sync compatibility. Lately most freesync/async with work with Nvidia cards.
It's not like sync is a must for a monitor to work either. Its more like a nice to have features when you reach low FPS in games.

Gotcha. I was a bit turned off of the TN lighting etc, but after reading that article the response times > color/constrast for what i'll be doing.

So out of that link you sent first, which monitor would you purchase under the $300 threshold? The first dell in that list is $223 and the second dell is 2ms.

Thanks for your opinion.

If you dont care about color accuracy or saturation, just get TN since they are the cheapest technology.
