Ive setteled on the i5-8600k

Huge upgrade from my 8350 but it fits my budget better

So mobo memory and a cheap decent cooler i have no intention to overclock right now?

case is a roswill thor.

stay with stock cooler
z370 chipset if you wanna oc later if not get w/e.
memory will depend on board, ideally you want higher mhz and lower cas.

2x8gb 3000 or 3200 mhz is standard with 15 CAS latency

8600k doesn't have a stock cooler afaik

Not sure what you mean by trash... Because it doesn't have RGB and an I/O shield cover? It has the best of the 4 phase CPU VRM's, solid amount of fan headers, decent enough UEFI...
You don't need a 6-8 phase VRM for an i5, but if you wanna waste your money I guess go ahead.

Reviews on several sites both newegg and amazon gave this board a big downgrade
