I don’t really know much about computers. But I’m looking to get a gaming one.

Can you all inform my of pros and cons laptop vs desk? I know I won’t be doing anything crazy and want to keep it at $1200 max as I probably won’t use it all that much and I have an xbox1 as well.

Been looking at Ibuypower.com. Just looking for some good knowledgeable direction. Thank you.

con, no real mobility.
I mean you could make a mini atx build but you'd still have to lug keyboard/mouse/monitor.\

Fill out guide above as stated though.

Well like I said above. I don’t really know anything about this stuff. This I can’t say what I need. Though truthfully I don’t know what that stuff is to begin with lol.

That was the whole reason I asked for pros vs cons and input from those that do know.

Thank you anyway and hopefully further help can be derived from this post.

Ok, try this...

You already told us your budget, $1200 max. Tell us what games and programs you intend to run/use, and whether you need: monitor, mouse, keyboard.

Probably d2 Skyrim and similar open world games. I may use steam but I had an issue with a game I paid for not working and they didn’t resolve it so I can’t say I’d do that ago. But that’s all I can think of at the moment and yes I would need a monitor and everything. Though I may lean toward the laptop route as I am limited on space thanks to all my wife’s stuff.

Desktop pros vs laptop:
Better price:performance ratio
Modular (parts follow standard size, you can swap pretty much anything except CPUs in and out of a build
More space for aesthetics
Better temps

Laptop pros vs desktop:
Portability

I'm sure there are other pros to desktops, but those are some big ones.
Another note, stay away from pre-built PC's. You pay a big premuim to have it built and get lower quality hardware.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/t9gwcY - $765 USD after rebates.
Entry level build so you can get into PC gaming without breaking the bank. Lot's of room for upgrades in the future if you like it.
