My CPU temps are not good atm. It's 100% the CPU cooler not doing it's job.
I'm using the Kraken x62 cooler right now. Apparently other people with this cool and this CPU have had the same issues. (should have googled this before buying!)
i7-8700k | CPU
Asus Prime z370-A | Mobo

I'm trying to do some research but suggestions would be sick.

are you using stock bios
have you monitored voltages, vcore
mine was getting up to 1.36 with all core 4.7 ghz
lowered to 1.24
went to new bios needed to change to 1.26
went to newer bios with microcode update back to 1.24 all core
4 hour x264 stable and about hour of aida64
stable that was good enough for me for the time being
also use 1 or 2 avx offset, depends on mood
temps never hit past 65 but I am on h100i

OP brought it by my house and I sorted him out.
The newer mobo pcb's are much thinner so there wasn't enough tension to properly mount it.
After turning up his pump and temporarily adding washers the temps went to a reasonable level.

I will say though it seem like those coolers or his at least have a fair amount of air in them.

When I play fortnite and stream it's at like 65-70 but get random half second spikes to 75-79 and then it drops back down. but I feel like 70 is still way too high.
