I you aren't running into ram issues, I'd say just upgrade the graphics card for now, maybe add a SSD. That cpu is fine, and 8 gb can still work as long as you don't keep a bunch of ram hoarding programs open when you aren't using them.

you can only use ddr3 ddr4 would require a new mobo and cpu.
single channel vs dual channel is negligible in most applications.

DDU Instructions - Nvidia
1. Get this program, here: https://www.wagnardsoft.com/ ...get tyhe latest version, and save it to your desktop.
2. Get your vid card driver here, use the Manual Search: http://www.geforce.com/drivers ...save this to your desktop.
3. Run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) choose the "Highly Recommend Option", and just do what it tells you. If it wants to go into "Safe Mode", let it.
4. After it's done and comp has rebooted to normal mode, just double click the Nvidia driver to install. If it want's to reboot, let it.

I forgot to install drivers, so I uninstalled everything related to nvidia. Then I put in the disk that came with it and am currently going through that process. Currently sitting at a black screen though..

It works better if you just do what the directions say.

Also, the Nvidia drivers on the website are probably newer than the ones on the CD.

All seems to be well now. Thanks for the troubleshooting help! Is it bad to not have nvidia? I wish I had more cables inside my tower... can't have my CD drive and ssd plugged in at the same time lol
