Heh your in my stomping ground.

You won't need a sound card unless you have high end speakers or do music editing.
The wifi cards if you want to use your pc over wifi vs LAN (ethernet cable) this thingy - https://cdn.techterms.com/img/lg/ethernet_42.jpg

I'll assemble something for you soon but have a few tasks to do first.

Compatibility Notes

The Corsair - H100i v2 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler may require a separately available mounting adapter to fit the Asus - ROG STRIX B350-I GAMING Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard.
Unable to verify the Phanteks - Enthoo EVOLV ITX Mini ITX Tower Case has sufficient mounting depth to support the Corsair - H100i v2 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler 240mm radiator.

hope you verified these issues.

the rad will fit in either the top of the case or if you remove the front fan it will also fit there. as for mounting hardware; corsair wasnt initially up to speed with the release of any AM4 motherboard, and this issue has been dealt with. the adapter gets shipped with the coolers.

e/ for OS, the price listed is on kinguin for windows 10 pro

k then he's fine.

fyi ebay cheaper for a license key then kinguin and its buyer protections better.
ebay is 5$ vs 39$.

Though 8600k and 1060 > 1050ti and 1600x for gaming in basically everything but editing.
I guess your way does have more storage overall but less SSD storage.

i opted for amd over intel because of a slightly cheaper rate (cpu+mobo), yes the ryzen sits lower than the 8600k in comparison to gaming/ average desktop/ and popularity. i opted for it because it to me is a more well rounded cpu. with a much higher rate of multithreading and threads ( dont know if the OP will put it to use or not).

as for the vid card. yes it is lower, but the OP can always upgrade to something better in the future once they recoup some funds from the purchace of the system; if they choose my build.

yours is a solid build too, but for myself, i would never run solely on a ssd. just due to the fact a ssd has a finite number of reads and writes. i have never had more than 150gb installed on my primary drive (even having programs installed i hardly ever use) so myself; i see no point in having more than a 250gb primary drive ( again just me ). i also pagefile accross 3 of my mechanical drives (20gb partition on each dedicated for pagefiling) just to extend the life of my ssd as much as i can.

ive never trusted buying a OS key off of *** id sooner pick up a garbaged tower off of a curb and use its win7/10 key if its still valid. you can also use an old win 7 key to activate win10.. 7home=10home,7pro/ulti=10pro the 7 key becomes nullified afterwords though.

SSD's have come a long way, to bring up that argument is just silly, in fact I have my page file on my ssd without ill effects, this isn't sandforce controllers anymore and we have trim/smart.
At 16gb the page file will rarely be used aside from windows standard odd tiny file writes. In addition games benefit hugely from ssd's in terms of load times, Rather have a large ssd then go back to platter speeds.
I'll agree with the cpu and opt for yours provided he's streaming but only then tbh cause the performance hit is huge. I've bought maybe 20+ keys on ebay none without issue, they've been solid for over a year now.

In any event the drives can be changed without effecting budget so he can make that call but the cpu/gpu combo is not worth the down grade.
If anything stick a 1060 in your build and drop that cooler as its not necessary, if he chooses to OC then he can drop that money then vs
having to upgrade the gpu which is a hell of a lot more.

Anyways this back and fourths been quite nice.
