So I will probably be buying a GTX 1060. Worth $60 more for 6gb vs 3 gb version? Will I notice a difference in PoE?

What resolution are you playing at / and monitor refresh rate?

1920 x 1018

I'm currently using an HD Radeon 7970, which is a few years old. What would be my ideal resolution without lag? With this new league and all these green rifts or whatever they're called, I lag like crazy a lot :(

Not sure on monitor refresh rate.

The 3GB GTX 1060 is OK in some select cases. When the GTX 1060 3GB's frames dip, they dip hard. That can be the difference of adding noticeable chop to 1440p gameplay with the wrong settings combination, and is particularly noticeable with VRAM intensive applications. MEC requires a settings reduction, as the major example, and Shadow of Mordor is edging on one. But outside of these poor performances, the 3GB card does reasonably well in most other aspects of gaming. It's not the 5% difference that nVidia advertised, but the difference is often between 6% and 7%, so this isn't some world-ending offense.

I recommend the 6GB variant for sure then. It's worth it.

Video memory for games nowadays are only increasing. You'll be happy

Yeah, if you have a 144hz monitor though, i'd get the 1070

But if you are on a <60 - 75hz monitor, the 6gb 1060 will be perfect

Btw, you'll be surprised at the perf difference in Path of Exile when you switch to an NVIDIA card. I get more FPS on my fucking gtx 950 than my rx 480 in PoE, lol
