With some adjustments to the gpu but pretty much a 1070 ti either way and maybe a different monitor

My question is is there anything I should change before I start ordering stuff? Ie: availability being a b, being bottlenecked by anything, programs that won't work together(ie: the main reason I changed my mobo), anything else I don't know about and therefore didn't list

Plz and thx as always

Remove 2 fans, get a 8600k and a cheaper water cooler

Unless aethetics matter that much to you
Can always get an air-cooler in the interim

The 2 fans are for under the case.. Idk if it's necessary but just there as an option I guess...
I was thinking about going with an air cooler for awhile and then getting an aio later too
And the 8600k is like 300$ everywhere

Yep, that's why you get air cooler + the 8600k

Intel's perf increase is like 5-10% each generation. Getting an overclockable one for $100 more or whatever it is saves you from wanting to upgrade sooner than you have to if you overclock.

Don't need the bottom fans. 1 front or top and 1 back is fine 99.9% of the time

Like $15 dollR diff I think

prefer to squeeze efficiency out of a system rather than performance

Yeah. Imo, $15 diff isn't a bank breaker lol
Both choices are fine, just CPU will be comparable to the following generations for longer. 8000 series is the only choice for that chipset. Next series won't use it.

Going from 8400 to 8600k/8700k won't make sense later either.
Jus what I would do :)

Initially had a 7700k with aio and no gpu. Was rough for a couple weeks but saved for a 1080 ti. 10/10 would do again lol
