I have a asus Z97 mark 2 mobo. Is the i7-4790K outdated? Should i just upgrade and get the 6 or 7th gen chipset?

hey buddy! Long time no see.

i edited my post, you think a 4790k is outdated?

I just spoke with my boss. I might be able to get a cpu( hes not sure what it is) Pretty sure he said it was intel. Also i can possibly get an 800w psu from them as well.

He also said he would give me their corsair server case.

No, a 4790K is fine.

/e I probably wouldn't make a new 4790K build, but if you already have a 4790K build...then just upgrade the vid card and peripherals.

i have corsair dominator platinum 32gb (4x8gb) 1866mhz.

If all goes to plan. I will have a psu, cpu, case, mobo and ram.
