Yes, you could do that.
You will most probably, need to remove the HDD and replace it with an SSD.
Which will also mean that you will have to clone the HDD to the SSD...if possible.
Otherwise, you will have to do a clean install of Windows 10 Home.
All of the drivers you would need can be found here:
https://us.msi.com/Laptop/support/GL62M-7th-Gen-GTX-1050Ti.html#down-driver&Win10%2064/e A clone from a 1TB hard drive to an SSD with less capacity, is not easily done. It's probably impossible.
/ee You might luck out. Some laptops have hookups for TWO drives. But they usually cost more. They are usually in the $1500 CAD range.
/eee Like this. They already added a 1TB HDD and a 256GB SSD....all else is the same.
https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834154493I know it seems smarter to get a laptop with just an HDD, and then buy an SSD cheaper, and install it. Manufacturers know this as well.
The recovery partition on the HDD only laptop, will make it very difficult to shrink the OS partition, so you can clone it to a smaller device.
That's why a clean install will most probably be required. It's easier and costs the same in the long run...to just get the one with the SSD/HDD already.
Remember, you're not just paying for the SSD in the laptop I linked. You're also paying for the 2nd drive slot and the cooling to keep your laptop happy.
