Just built my new gaming rig a couple of days ago and the Windows 7 install disk has gone missing.

Without an OS I have been unable to use the PC yet...

However, I have the product key that goes with the Windows 7 disk.

My question is, is there someway I can install Win 7 on the PC without the disk since I have the product key?

Download the windows 7 installer onto a flash drive, boot to flash drive and install it. You can look up a tutorial if you don't know how.

Thank you

The file I got from Microsoft's website is an iso file. So I need to burn this to the usb somehow?

There is a tool on the Microsoft site to create a bootable USB stick with the Win 7 ISO.
Or you could burn it to a DVD, w/o using the tool.

I got this error when using the Microsoft tool. Looked online and apparently that tool has issues creating boot devices?

There's a tool called Rufus which apparently does the same thing and looks pretty safe. Might try it

I'm not having much luck :/

I tried installing from both USB's, one using the Microsoft tool and one using Rufus, both give me the same error

It keeps telling me no device drivers are found

whats the flash drives make and model?
do you have your usb2/3.0 drivers installed?
is it in a usb 2 or 3 slot? is it front or back of pc slot?
use HP USB disk storage format tool to format the device before trying.
