So I have 16 gigs in my new build. The mobo is reading all 16. Hell, even windows is reading all 16 gigs.

15.1 gigs are inaccessible due to hardware reserve...

Anyone got any ideas? I've done pretty much everything.

Get SPECCY here: http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download
...get the FREE version from the: Piriform Link
...Speccy is a really nice system hardware/temperature, information Utility.
...simply install it...and run the program...then post a screen shot of the main page of the program, when posting a problem/question on these forums.

"hardware Reserved" is usually caused by either...

1. Mismatched/incompatible/mis-installed RAM
2. Incorrect BIOS setting
3. Incorrect msconfig setting

msconfig > Boot > Advanced Options ...should look like this.

Speccy screenshot will look like this...

So I ran Speccy only to find out that I installed the 32-bit version of Win 10 Pro -.-

Reformatting now. I should have seen that earlier. Thanks

I will let you know if I run into the same problem again.

Wow, I never assumed anyone would install the 32 bit version. With make/model of motherboard I can check to make sure RAM is installed in proper slots.
Even with 32 bit version of Windows, you should still see 12.x GB of RAM usable.

/e Please list make and model of motherboard.

MSI X99 SLI Plus

Ram is installed in outer dims, which I believe are dims 1 and 5.

You have 2x 8GB RAM sticks??

/e Dimm 1 and Dimm 5 look right. They should be the slots furthest from the CPU on either side. In Speccy it should show as dual channel??

You should also know, that in these forums, it is required by law that you post a pic of your comp. :)

lol... I'll throw up some photos of the new build later then.

Just dropped $1800 on a new setup for work / gaming. Needless to say, it's a beauty.
