This will be my first build. I've done some research here and there. Here's my draft. Thanks! http://pcpartpicker.com/list/Y2Dm3F
I'm willing to part this out over a few months, as deals arise. Being my first, I've never known the likes of more than lowest graphics settings running at 90C on my laptop. Should be a great buy :) . Not interested in overclocking, and would like hyper-threading.

Budget:
Maximum you will spend? - 1100
Will you complete mail in rebates? - Yes
If so, may we go over-budget if rebates bring you within budget? - Yes
Do you need Windows Operation System within budget? - Yes. I've kept Windows 7 on my laptop, but it seems 10 will be mandatory with DirectX12.
Need a Monitor? / Mouse? / Keyboard within budget? - No

Basic Info:
Specific Uses (Programs, game titles etc.) - For everyday use, gaming (League, Diablo, H1Z1, racing, shooters), may even stream/record | Possibly CAD/FEA programs (SolidWorks/Abaqus).
Country? - USA
Will you travel to NCIX (canada) or Microcenter (USA) for parts? (Null if unsure) - Y, Microcenter not far from work.

How much hard drive space do you want or need? - 2TB HDD | 250 SSD
Will you use wireless or wired internet? - Wired
Will you overclock CPU and/or GPU? - No
Any special requests or useful things to tell us? (Specific case, need lots of storage, audio etc.) - At first I assumed I wanted a mid tower, but smaller form factor intrigues me. Idk how that affects cooling, however. Also I may want a CD Drive... just to have one.

Do you prefer any specific colors for the build/computer case? - Consistent if possible, just not all over the place.
Do you prefer a window on your case? - Hmmm, yes? But I hear they scratch easily.

You can get windows 10 key from kinguin for 30. You'd just have to make a USB boot drive using rufus or something.

Also the case is pretty good for 50.
Feel free to downgrade to 1060, if u can't go slightly over budget after Mir. But downgrading it for evo ssd and aftermarket cooler isn't worth it imo

As for cd drive, purchase a portable one

Could also swap PSU and make up that 8$
he don't need 750 watts even though its a solid deal.

I haven't used those 15% off first 3 orders from Jet. Maybe I could swing this by using them, probably save over $100. Are you suggesting that aftermarket cooling is really only necessary with overclocked CPUs? Or does the 6700 have a good stock cooler? I'd be interested in spending the money to reduce temps/noise.

e: Also is there any reason for the Z motherboard?

Yeah the stock fans are obviously not as good as aftermarket ones, but it's still decent especially for no overclocking. You can always purchase it later, if you feel the need to. Stock fans are only noticeably loud if you have a crappy case and it's running like 100% fan speed. So you should try it with stock first, and if it bothers you, just upgrade it, but most people would prefer 1070 over 1060 + cpu fan.

I picked z170 cuz of ram frequency, and it's not much more with the sale at 106. Plus it matches black/white with the black rams on sale. Also on the better end of mobo at 100 range . If you're not ocing the cpu, u might as well take advantage of the 3000mhz rams. It shd slightly help with the programs you use, otherwise feel free to get h170 or b150 mobo

And like king said, u can downgrade psu to save 8 bucks or more, but I'd rather spend a lil and get more than enough wattage now for future upgrade without having to worry about insufficient power and having to buy another psu.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm gonna stay at a 1060. Keep in mind... I have never had the pleasure of gaming for the graphics. And the resolution on my laptop is 1366x768. So this is already a huge step up. I'll be satisfied with running 60fps+ on high/ultra for most games and not even worrying about temps. I'll probably put the savings toward a second monitor and keyboard.

The custom prices are from the local Microcenter... offers on some premium hardware that I really can't pass up. Although if you think a different mobo would be better, by all means suggest one. Yours is a few dollars cheaper, but idk what makes one mobo better than another.
With the deals, I can build an overclockable rig (with a higher base clock speed) for the same price as what I originally wanted. Like you had, I can get a cheaper SSD and higher freq ram. And also I may swap out the case. We'll see if I find anything else.

Also, this power supply is better than the one I have in there, but the price is all over the place. If it returns to $49.99 like is has a few times recently then I'll pick that up too.

Yeah if Ur staying at the reso, 1060 is overkill, but the case isn't 50 bucks nemore so u can change it if u want.
Also, build quality of b2 is better (jap caps) + extra wattage, plus the gg customer support from evga, but if u want cs it's not a bad option either

Gotcha. And yeah I was just saying I've only ever used 1366x768. And this will do 1080p at really nice settings just fine for some time.

You will be going over budget if you want to reduce noise/temps outside what is included stock.

I've spent like 200$ on fans and cooling alone to reduce the noise in my case via adding larger fans that spin slower.

The world of reducing noise is expensive.
