been out of the loop for a while . any recommendations on new cards around 300-400? i see the 1060 is in that range. which one would be the best?

Well in order from worst to best

Amd rx 480 4/8 gb
Gtx 1060 3gb
Gtx 1060 6b
Gtx 1070
Gtx 1080

Get the one that fits your budget. the 1060 would suit your needs at 1080p and the 1070 would as well.

that one is around 550 CAD. little bit too much for me atm

i am currently using a corsair a50

how do these compare?

980s still handle games fine. Very comparable to a 1060
