I'm getting around 20-21 sec boot times.

Similar machines im getting 10secs

asus z170e
i7 6700
16mb ram ddr4 3000
SSD Evo 850
Windows pro ed

I enabled fast boot and disabled drct key
logo disabled
Ram msgs disabled
Also, the majority of the boot happens as soon as I power on for about 10 secs my monitor is black and doesnt seem to get that handshake right away. Dont know if that has anything to do with the problem.

So im black screen for 10-12 secs and then once My monitor connects im at the windows load screen and 7-8 secs later im on homescreen.

Its not a huge deal but I feel like boot times should be halved.

Any ideas?

Well why isnt my monitor not turning on for the first 12 secs?

Tried multiple monitors and connectors.

and twice as long for boot.

What monitor?

/e Btw, you want the Optional ROM messages, to be set to Force BIOS

If you have a problem one day...like ma hardware problem...you will need this turned on.

Go here: http://crystalmark.info/download/index-e.html

Get this version: Standard Edition Portable (zip) of: CrystalDiskMark 5.1.2 ...and save it to your desktop.

Extract it to a New Folder, and run the disk benchmark...post a screen shot of the results.

/e Also, what version of Windows Pro? Win 7, Win 8.1, Win 10?

Ok, well it's not your SSD...that's working just fine. :)

I dunno bro, maybe some setting in your monitors OSD? Maybe some standby crap in Windows.

Try going to the Power Settings in Control Panel, and setting: Turn the monitor(s) off...NEVER.

/e Assuming you have the monitor(s) set to the correct type of INPUT. I would guess it's a software issue.
It seems monitor related, but as to how...I haven't a clue.
