Only one ram stick works in the first slot so this time I am unsure if it is my motherboard or ANOTHER faulty stick. Only one ram stick works in the first slot again. Does anyone know what this would be?

Put both sticks in first slot and only one works. the other one never reads so I am unsure if my motherboard isnt reading or what.

Is ur os 32 bit?
How much is it reading?
You swapped the sticks and it still reads the same amount regardless of which slot they are in?

Ensure that you put then in slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 depending on mobo

No like I have two ram sticks. I put one into the second slot and PC wont start but the other one starts in the same slot. Could it be another set of bad ram? I litteraly just returned it and it did the same exact thing as the last one did.

test both sticks in your first slot. if both ram sticks are working fine in your one working slot, but not both slots, ensure that they are in the correct slots.
if they are in the correct slots and your issue persists, I would wager your motherboard having a faulty port. A failed RAM slot is not a particularly rare issue (not that a failed ram stick is either ^_^).

Change the channels of which the ram is being put into.

Okay I just changed the channels and now it will work both. I am confused to why the second stick wouldnt work in the first good slot though.

So now that they are not in the overclocking slots or performance slots what will happen differently and will it make that much of a deal to change?

Why don't you tell us what slots they are in?

Counting to the right...away from the CPU. The slots go 1, 2, 3, 4 then you hit the edge of the motherboard.

Like this....

RAM is supposed to go in slots 2 & 4, but can also go in slots 1 & 3.

Mine is in 1 and 3.

Slot #4 doesnt work I am assuming but if I swap the ram sticks in the same slot only one works so im confused why they both work in the 1/3

Slots 1 & 3 are one channel, Slots 2 & 4 are the other channel. If the RAM works in one channel but not the other... channel, then the RAM is good.

When you try the different channels, move both sticks at the same time. If w/e you put in slot 4 doesn't work, then you have a bad RAM....SLOT, on the motherboard.
