Buddy is wanting to build the best possible build he can for strictly video editing, speed, etc. He does a lot of green screen high resolution music videos

His budget is $1500

Nothing to transfer over beside SSD's'/optical drives.

I'm not sure how to build strictly high processing speeds, i have always just done gaming rigs, not even sure if there is a lot of difference.

Thanks for input

My opinion. Upgrading to a i7 6900k wouldn't hurt!

You can accomplish anything on a pc that a mac can do, for 1/2 the price.

Thanks, I'll see if anyone else builds anything and compare options.

Not this build. Six core CPU with a GTX 950 and an NEX PSU?

Go all out on a CPU and get trash for the rest.

6700K would be just as good.

Agreed, when getting a PSU avoid the nex series. Else, i would say I like this build the most of the 2 posted. I wont submit my own as it would be very similar to this. The gpu you choose can be flexible. While the higher tier you buy from ultimately gives you more speed, the amount of speed is fairly small. Going from something like a 950 to a 390 wouldn't give you a ton more performance, Something to the tune of a few % in terms of time shaved off a render. So keep that in mind if he never needs to make any cuts to the budget.
