Budget: ~$700 might be able to go a little higher; not sure yet.
More specific use (what games, what programs): Gaming (CS:GO, WoW, Diablo 3, LoL, Rust, Battlefield games, The Division, Arma 3, PoE, and any future games)
Planned time until purchase: When I get a decent build I'm comfortable with.
Do you need an Operating System?: I have the free upgraded version of Windows 10 64-bit on my Western Digital Black 1TB HDD - 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache (I plan on keeping this unless you guys think a SSD would be better. I'm not worried about stuff loading faster unless I can really notice the difference).
Do you have any specific preferred components?:I'd like to stay with a Intel CPU and ASRock mobos (unless you guys recommend something better)
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: Sound card in the future but not worried about it now.
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: Stock cooling. If I plan to OC in the future I'll worry about it then.
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?:None of those
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): 43072

What are your preferences in case style? (lights, flashy, dull, etc)I kind of want a new case as I find my Antec 300 ATX Mid tower to be a little small when putting in parts (I have giant caveman hands). Would like something that looks good and isn't boring.
Are you planning to use multiple monitors? Yes
Are you looking for upgrade-ability? Sure
Do you have any preferred brands? Like Intel CPU and AMD GPUs have been good to me. I might look at the new Nvidia ones coming out in a couple of months.
Can you reuse any components from an older build? I am reusing my 1TB Wester Digital Black as it has my Windows 10 on it, my Sapphire Radeon R9 280 3GB until the new cards come out.
Is there anything else you think we should know? I'll be able to use my Windows 10 on the 1TB HDD when I get a new mobo/cpu, right? I also have a Microcenter near me.

My current build:

Thank you. You actually provided all the details.
You are of a special breed around here.

Personally I would get a ssd / gpu / full tower case and call it a day.
Oc your current cpu cause its a beast with oc'ing and wait another cpu gen to buy.

/edt
wait to buy gpu though if you can, pascal launches soon and it will be a huge boost.

Well if you want to go with an overclock able K series processor you will need more budget.

Came up with that for you. Use your WD HDD as your storage and this as your boot drive.
This is a non K series and is not overclock able.

Yeah, I thought about getting a SSD but 1TB HDD has been good and I haven't really had any problems with loading speeds since I've upgraded to Windows 10. Would the SSD make that big of a difference?

Not sure how I feel about overclocking though.

I'm not entirely sure I would want to overclock and potentially fuck something up.

I don't know if I want a SSD. Might be worth it thought but haven't decided yet.
Thanks for your build

Also, I came up with this build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XQPWnQ while looking at yours.

You'll notice the ssd for sure. standard platter drives are slow in comparison.
Well OC'ing is relatively safe so long as you read up on it.
There is tons of info on oc'ing your chip so you should have no issues on a mild/mid oc.

It's all a matter of trail and error and taking your time.
You will need an after market cooler though.

Thanks! I'll do some more research as I'm not really in a hurry to build this.

Also, what do you think of the build I posted?

There is no GPU
personally would spend more on mobo and not get an asrock.
still need an ssd.

Pc games depend more on gpu then CPU hence why i'd upgrade your rig and not buy new.
the cpu offers about a 20-30% increase in performance that won't reflect as a 20-30% increase in games.

It's wasted money from my point of view.

I didn't add a GPU because I'm going to use my current until the new ones come out in a couple months.

Since your set on buying new it looks good but add a ssd damn it.
I'll find you and mushroom slap you if you don't get an ssd.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gWWTbv

pick a case u like

cx psu are junk, there are better options like seasonic/superflower oems
no need to get a k version of CPU if ur not going to overclock.
2500k is a very good chip to OC
ssd would be very good for PoE, d3, WoW
