Okay, I have finally accumulated a budget to where I can get stuffz thats okay

Budget:800-1100 ~ I'd prefer to spend the least amt possible for an i5 build that will be upgradeable in the future
More specific use (what games, what programs): League of Legends, Civ 5, Blade and Soul, ect.
Planned time until purchase: Whenever
Do you need an Operating System?: Yes
Do you have any specific preferred components?: i-5
Do you need a sound or wireless card?:no i have ethernet
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: I don't plan on overclocking, what is that anyways?
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?:I need a monitor and a keyboard
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs):48047

I can't find my old topic so I'm making a new 1, couldn't find it on google and its not tracked =(

from past experience i'd recommend picking out a specific game and looking for performance benchmarks

find the resolution at which you want a specific performance for said game and use that to decide the video card and size of your monitor
the video card usually comes with implications for the powersupply
then you can worry about mobo, cpu and memory

Wouldn't it be better to get a well-rounded machine?

Yes it would, however at $1000 budget, WITH monitor and Windows, you're looking at a pretty crappy build. :(

I could get close to $1000 w/o windows or monitor and using a Z97 build. :/

I've been pretty indecisive. I've had people saying things about comps like.... why is something around 1k crappy? Shouldn't that allow me to play tripple a games now and in the future?

Also... Is this a good time of the year to buy a computer? I'm not looking for new shit coming out so are the things I want, at this price point, a decent sale price at this time of the year?
