not a bad build.. personally i wouldnt opt for asrock, or a single stick of ram, but thats just me...

just threw this together.. its approx $50 over your max budget of 1.6k (if you complete mail in rebates)

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9W7ZkL

e/ you can bring the price down by $40~ by removing the BR/DVD/CD burner

assuming that's in USD,
it's very overpriced.

Well, i would not recommend the 980, since the price / performance ratio is terrible. The AMD counter card (390X) not only offers more performance, but is also like 60$ cheaper on average.
Dont use 8gb of Ram in an 1500$ build. Thats just stupid. Go for 16gb.
You should use a SSD. Also had to switch to a MSI main board as ASRock's models did not fit the design.

Here is my suggestion: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/g7HRLk $1484.55

EDIT: with the 980 ti: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Y397kL $1684.55

@Canadian_Born: Seriously? A 980 for 650$?? For that price you can get a 980ti and a big family pizza.

point being? its a hybrid card.. fin/fan and liquid.. i chose it for looks, performance, and overall heat dissipation. ive found through the hybrid/straight liquid setups that the heat generation within the case is minimal, as 98% of the heat is pretty much direct forced vent not to mention far superior cooling than just fans..

you pay for what you get.. quality over quantity..

e/ i removed 2x 4gb sticks to compensate pricing.. can double it back up easily enough.. and 8gb is still more than enough for even the most modern game..

e2/ could always save 150 off the price of my build by going with this card and adding the 8gb of ram back... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131676&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

If it makes sense, i can go as high as 2k. Not including a case, monitors, keyboard, mouse (which i'm looking for recommendations)

Appreciate the help.
